Theresienwiese and Bavaria Park

Die Tour
Explore the Theresienwiese - famous for the Oktoberfest - and the Bavaria Park with its lovely statues.
We start the route at the Theresienwiese – the venue of the world famous Octoberfest. But even without the pavilions and Bavarian Blasmusik, the area is worth checking out.
Of course you cannot visit the Theresienwiese without a stop at the Bavaria and the Ruhmeshalle (hall of fame), built in the 19th century. The bronze cast of the Bavaraia, a personification of the Southern German state, stands on a pedestal and measures a total of 18 metres. You can even go inside the statue: A spiral staircase leads up to the head of the Bavaria, from where you can enjoy a nice view.
Behind the Bavaria, west of the Theresienwiese, lies the Bavaria Park. It is much less known and mostly visited by locals. Here you can relax after a busy day – and enjoy the beautiful sculptures.
This route is also ideal for running, if you are lokking for some exercise.
Starting point is the subway station Theresienwiese (U4/U5).
