Die Tour
A relaxing walk next to the Isar and to one of the most famous museums in Germany
On this route we visit both one of the most popular recreation areas in Munich (Isar Auen) and one of the cultural highlights of the city (Museumsinsel).
Most of the time we walk along the Isar, Munich´s biggest river. The so called Frühlingsanlagen (spring site) between the two brigdes Wittelsbacherbrücke and Reichenbachbrücke is the perfect place to relax, especially in summer.
The Museumsinsel (museum island) with the famous Deutsches Museum (German Museum) are right next to it. If you have the time, a visit to the museum is always special – or you can just take a look at the building and the impressive tower while walking by it.
The Isar Auen are also a great place for a short run or a cycling tour.
The route starts and ends at the subway station Fraunhoferstraße (U1/U2).
